What are the chances of my dog being adopted if I bring her to the pound?

She’s a one year old Pomeranian/Shiatsu mix about 10 pounds. She’s a great and cute dog but my house is being foreclosed on and I can’t take care of her anymore. I can’t imagine her being put to sleep but nobody wants her.

If you bring her to a no-kill animal rescue shelter, then they will not put her down.

As far as when they get adopted.. it depends on a lot of factors, like when the right person comes in at the right time. She could get adopted from anywhere between 1 day to 1 year.

If you absolutely have to take her to a rescue shelter, then definitely research in your area for no-kill shelters, and explain to them your situation. They will understand and there is no way they would put her down if she was not able to get adopted.

I have no idea what parts you live in, but Animal Haven in the Kansas City area is the best animal shelter in this area where I live in. If you could find one similar in your area, that may be the best thing for her if you can’t keep her or find her another permanent home with a friend or relative.
